For the third year running, this residential event is being jointly hosted by
Livabilityand
Tearfund.
Both organisations equip churches in the UK to transform their
communities.This event will include a mix of teaching, reflective
activities,sharing, personal time and fun.
Session titles- we will learn from the story of the widow of Nain's son being raised fom the dead in Luke 7:11-16:
- Living deep in the real world (coping with violence, injustice and despair)
- Living deep for the long-term, moving from surviving to thriving (avoiding burn out and cynicism)
- Living deep to empower the church in its community (appreciating the best of church and avoiding the worst)
- Living deep with my family (what incarnational living really means for my 10 year old daughter)
Introducing our facilitators:
John Hayes has a lifelong interest in the needs of the poor. He and his wife, Deanna, are General Directors of
InnerCHANGE,a
mission order that works among the poor in five countries, sharing the
good news in words and works through personal relationships. In1984,
John relocated his family to the poorest, most overcrowded street in
Southern California. He was determined to launch a holistic ministry
that establishes its staff in the inner city. The Hayes now live in one
of the poorest parts of East London. John is the author of ‘
sub-merge’, a story-based book that focuses on how faith-based relationships can change the world one person at a time.
