The Coign, Woking

Tim Brown, Elder and Administrator of The Coign Church took the time to share with us their experience of Just People.

Tim ran the course himself first with his cell group (like a home group) in April 2009. He thought it was powerful and really worth recommending to the other cell group leaders.

Of the 40 cell groups at The Coign Church, 33 then decided to run Just People. When the groups were asked, 32 out of 33 found it to be a really useful course with only 1 feeling that it didn’t deliver for them.

The groups gave lots of useful feedback regarding the content of Just People which will go to make the course even better in the future. Clearly, many of the groups felt it was an enormous benefit for them and the church, and who knows what will come out of it in the long term.

Tim Brown felt it did a brilliant job of presenting the church with the challenge to serve in a new and different way. He said it should be relevant for everyone, whether they are already involved in the community or not. He said:

Just People brought a wave of biblical challenge to so many across the church and for those already serving their communities, Just People ‘re-envisioned’ them with the biblical mandate giving them energy and a fresh sense of vision.
