Leading Inside Out
Inside Out is a six session course designed to help your group rethink the meaning of mission in every area of life to help build a church committed and equipped to take action. For a basic outline and overview of the course see an introduction to Inside Out.
If you've made the decision to go for it, here's a step by step guide...
1. Buy the DVD
You can
buy the DVD
for £12.99 from Essential Christian.
The DVD contains all the teaching films and case studies and comes with a basic course guide booklet.
Additional films
The only film mentioned in the booklet that is not on the DVD is
a clip of Al Gordon talking about mission and worship. This is available free at
http://vimeo.com/29013188.
There's also a new film available from
Youtube - which looks at the power of one man's campaigning for debt relief and the difference it makes in Tanzania.
This could be enough to run the course but we've got more for you...
2. Register online to access further resources
To complement the DVD we've put a whole bunch of extra resources online for you to access.
Please note, none of these pages can be accessed without signing up and then logging in each session, so make sure you keep a note of your password (though it's easily reset).

3. Promote your course
The following resources are available without logging in:
4. Get started and send your group back to the website
Once you have started the course don't forget to send your
participants back to the website, we've got pages dedicated to them with more resources and reminders of the activities which are an easy follow up to each session. Follow the participants' tab to find these resources.
5. Plan an action starter activity or event
This material and previous courses have been tested by a range of different churches from a wide variety of backgrounds. Their feedback to us was that organising a time to put learning into practice in their local community was the most challenging, yet important, aspect of the course.
For ideas of how to plan this
check out the
Action Starter page
(you may need to be logged in).
One church ran an open coffee morning along with a ‘Stop the Traffik’ event on their high street on a Saturday morning. They put ‘For Sale’ signs on children of church members to highlight the terrible trafficking of children that goes on and asked people to sign up to the campaign. Through the coffee morning they spoke with many local people and filled in questionnaires asking what could build community in the local area. Alongside this they also organised a house clearance for a young woman within the church who had moved into a drug rehabilitation centre.
6. Get the journal and promote to your group
Sometime in Spring 2012 we will be launching a new
journal
to go with the course. There are 7 reflections for each session of
the course which will help individuals to engage with the topic
personally and think about their individual response to the bible
passages being studied. If you are
signed up to our email (as above) you will be notified when this is available.
7. Going deeper and further
We've put together a
reading list with relevant books and articles for each session.
We've also put together a few ideas of
