Welcome to the Discovery Facilitators Zone, here you will find additional resources to compliment the training and Discovery pack.
Additional booklets
To help Discovery Facilitators as they support a church through the process we have written two additional booklets. These booklets were designed to work alongside and strengthen the Seven Toolkits and the Discovery Facilitators Guide.
These materials are to be used at the facilitators discretion. We suggest that you familiarise yourselves with them and refer back to them as the church progresses through Discovery. Alongside the two booklets you will also find two corresponding powerpoint presentations that can be used to introduce that particular stage to the Discovery Church group.
Churches across the UK have found that starting Discovery well goes a long way in making it a successful process. Many churches have launched Discovery at a dedicated church away-day. This allowed them to explain the process in a bit more detail, give the church the opportunity to experience some of the Discovery activities and understand how they can get involved, and help them to get excited about the future possibilities as the church discovers its role in
transforming lives in its community.
This additional Discovery resource helps you to launch Discovery well. It provides you with a step-by-step guide to help you organise and deliver a church away day, and it contains additional Bible studies to help enthuse and envision the church for community action.
This additional Discovery resource is designed to be used alongside Discovery Toolkit 3 Gathering Information. It includes ideas and activities that will support churches that may lack the confidence to engage directly with their local community.
The new material contain activities around building relationships, and some more detail on the use of statistics, designing questionnaires,and how to carry out a community survey.
